I am now spending some time listening to MP3s

The wonders of modern technology
The hills are still alive to the Sound Of Music
Ray Charles, Poetry Man Phoebe Snow, MFSB TSOP, better than today's "music".
Of course Swing still sounds good too. Sing, Sing, Sing.
Early Elton John.
While
Phil Spector produced two classics:
Ike and Tina Turner River Deep Mountain High and
The Checkmates, Ltd. Love Is All I Have to Give.
Both still sound as fresh as when they were recorded.

Hi Stacks
Have you checked out iTunes? You can buy albums quite reasonably priced and one song is usually about $1.69. Just remember to back them up.
I saw Ike and Tina in Sydney at the Horden Pavillion in the early 70s. She was wonderful. He shouldn't have bothered to be there.

echoesinthewind.blogspot.com
Where I found on Friday, September 1, 2007 The Checkmates and the Wall of Sound.
