The three are accused of being part of a mob that targeted people of Middle Eastern appearance in violent incidents at Cronulla beach on December 11. But Magistrate Ross Clugston remanded them both in custody for the protection of the community. He said photographs tendered by the prosecution allegedly showed the pair "at the forefront" of a crowd of men attacking victim Safi Merhi in the street."

9 January 2006 - Police from Campsie Local Area Command are investigating two armed robberies at Belmore in Sydney’s southwest. The offender carrying the handgun has been described to police as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, about two metres tall, 17 or 18-years-old with black hair. In a separate incident about 11pm yesterday, two men aged 24 and 27 were outside a house in Lakemba Street at Belmore, when they were approached by four males.
One of the offenders was armed with a silver handgun, while another was carrying a large samurai sword. They forced the victims inside the residence and stole a number of personal items before fleeing the scene.
One of the men has been described as Pacific Islander appearance, 175cm tall, 20-21 years of age with slim build, black moustache and deep eyes. A second offender has been described as being of Pacific Islander appearance, 168cm tall, 19-20 years of age with larger build, big eyes and large nose."
